Just Got Back From Actually Purchasing A Classic Ford Mustang

I really haven’t so much gotten to speak on this weblog nearly as often as I might like, on account of all the time I’ve been helping my Dad fuel his super nutball midlife crisis. Well, I suppose it isn’t as far gone as it could be. Basically how he showed up was he got all done up like he was Fonzie or something, and come over to my apartment and proclaim to me, in his jazziest tone of voice: “Hop in, son, you and I are gonna start shopping for some classic Ford Mustang Sales. You heard that right, buddy, I intend to buy one.”

And so the two of us went out to all of those crazy classic car showrooms that you’re pretty much certain are mob-run, and I see my crazy padre cut a check on the spot, for an extremely well-preserved classic Ford automobile. I mean, it really is an intense item. It sounded amazing too.

Notice that I said about that sound in a past tense. It sounded really nice until it stopped making any noises. My pops tells me that it’s a pretty simple fix and all he needs is the right part. Only thing is, it is not as straightforward to find 1968 Mustang parts as it was about 30 years ago, but Dad tells me there is a really good-sized availability for them regardless. Apparently the the best bet for finding parts for 1967 Mustangs is actually internet auctions, since you can find them rebuilt and often as good as new. Not necessarily available for a nominal fee, though… Think about it, they are half-century old automotive parts.

Not as bad as some midlife crises, I suppose. He might’ve bought a mail-order bride.
